Welcome to The Boredough Baker, where fermentation meets obsession — and boredom turns into beautiful, crusty, chewy loaves.

The Boredough Baker was an inspiration spawned from a 114+ year old starter that Sharon received as a gift from her sister in Alaska.  Doughlene was born! After months of growing the “Army”, as she calls it, and baking bread that was given away to friends and family, she discovered her passion.

Dive into the life of a cottage food baker in Maryland who is constantly exploring interesting and delicious new taste combinations.  We’re here to bring that passion, love — and plenty of patience — to every loaf we bake.

Our Philosophy

We believe great bread can’t be rushed. Each of our sourdough loaves is naturally leavened, hand-shaped, and slow-fermented to develop flavor, texture, and character you just can’t fake. No shortcuts, no additives, no nonsense. Just flour, water, salt, time — and a whole lot of love.

Why “Boredough”?

Let’s be honest: this all started with a bit of boredom, wine and a sourdough starter that refused to be ignored. What began as a personal project turned into a business idea fueled by curiosity, creativity, and carbs. The name stuck — and so did the love for the process.

What We Offer

We specialize in small-batch sourdough bread, baked fresh with the best ingredients. Our offerings rotate with the seasons and our own inspiration, but you’ll always find a few classics in the mix — and maybe a surprise or two.

Whether you’re a long-time sourdough lover or just discovering what real bread should taste like, we’re here to feed your cravings.

Thanks for stopping by. We’re so glad you’re here.
